Black Belt Theatre Vol 6-10 DVD. Black Book DVD Review Includes:
Shaolin Against Lama-When usually peaceful Tibetan monks begin waging a country-wide campaign of terror, it's up to those daring priests of Shaolin to put things right. Conscripting a brash young boxer, the Shaolin powers that be determine to send him to Tibet in the hopes that he can master the fabled "lama kung fu" style as well as attain inner wisdom from none other than the high lama himself. Fighting styles abound in this manic martial epic.
Kung Fu Zombie-A criminal comes to town in order to kill Billy Chong over a past dispute. But instead of getting his own hands dirty, he hires a Taoist wizard to animate some zombies to do the job for him. The plan goes horribly awry, and the bad guy ends up getting killed in his own trap. This angers the villain's spirit and he forces the priest to reincarnate him - only they can't find a suitable body. Meanwhile, an undead fiend of sorts comes to town to kill Billy's father over some other past dispute. This is where all of Billy's kung fu training comes in handy, and he manages to kill the attacker. With this, the other bad guy finally has a body to use, but the reincarnation goes wrong and the corpse is reborn as a vampire.
Shaolin Drunk Monkey-Two kung fu experts set out to avenge the massacre of the local Shaolin temple by Shallow Head Silver Eagle, the bloodthirsty, self-appointed "King of All Warriors." One is the only survivor of the temple's destruction, while the other is a wandering beggar carrying with him a diabolical secret--he is a mysterious master of the Drunk Monkey Fist! Only together can the duo hope to defeat Silver Eagle, who uses the fatal "claw and fan" technique.
Snuff Bottle Connection-John Liu once again takes the part of a super-fighting hero who is faced with a typically formidable foe. This time the legendary kicker is on the trail of a symbolic snuff-bottle which acts as a form of identification between the heinous Manchus and their Russian allies. As is to be expected, the task will not be easy as the much sought after article has attracted the attention of all parties involved. The stakes are raised when the snuff-bottle falls into the hands of an invincible villain who uses it to conduct his own transactions with the Russians. Liu's only hope is to team up with a mischievous yet resourceful fighter who finally notes the patriotic need of the mission. Together the two face a rogues' gallery of opponents before the ultimate conflict against their mysterious rival.
Monkey Fist-After a man's family is killed by the emperor and his men, he hides outside a monastery where he observes the monk's martial arts training. Eventually he is invited into the monastery. His observance and outside practice puts him ahead of the other neophytes. Eventually he is offered to train under another older monk, where he is taught the monkey fist, the most extreme martial combat in which one uses their fingers as shredding claws. Having become a master, he leaves the monastery and joins the emperor's army where his skills quickly move him up the ranks. Moving into the upper circle of power, he plots the death of everyone who was involved in the murder of his family. When the army attacks the monastery, it forces him to move up his actions. |
