Eventually he is offered to train under another older monk, where he is taught the monkey fist, the most extreme martial combat in which one uses their fingers as shredding claws. Having become a master, he leaves the monastery and joins the emperor's army where his skills quickly move him up the ranks. Moving into the upper circle of power, he plots the death of everyone who was involved in the murder of his family. When the army attacks the monastery, it forces him to move up his actions.
